When I was a young lad there was three local Harley racers in our club here, I'll never forget the disappointment they felt after 1970 when Harley abandoned their family of racing then too.

Harley Davidson, the American Dream, decided the United States of America was a pussy and unable to compete any longer on the world stage of motorcycle racing........

I recently located Dick Mann and asked him why he switched to BSA in 1971 (won that year too) after winning the Daytona 200 on a Honda in 1970, his reply was short and simple.

"It was a one race contract. After Daytona, they pulled out of racing because they thought they had made their point."

I'm so disappointed Buell has been disbanded. Altho I'm not sure I ever would've bought one, I really liked them & admired Erik Buell's ideas. I might've seen an XB12XT somewhere in my future but not now I guess.

Tell me, other than your abiding love for your Busa, what are your reasons for hating Buells? What did they ever do to you? They may not have been your taste but such hatred for a motorcycle? Did one of them sexually abuse you as a kid?
