Doing donuts

I got new tires on my car about two months ago - Today Im looking at my car and I notice that the cords are showing (rear tires)- no one has driven my car but me and the valet that had my car two nights ago - If some one smoked the shit out of my tires wouldnt I have melted rubber in my wheel wells.

Re: Doing donuts

Yes you would, and probably on the side panels too, unless someone had some gasoline handy to clean it off....

Re: Doing donuts

What type of car? Is the wear on the insde of the tires or the outside? RWD? Is the rear end out of alignment? Were the tires in great/better shape pre-valet? I ask as these are all the questions the valet company will be asking you when confronted with this.

Re: Doing donuts

The tires are Michelin Pilot ps2 sport brand new less than 4K miles - rear wheel drive the wear is on the outside 4" of the rear wheels- The wheel alignment was done when I had the tires installed (by and at the dealer) - they will be getting my car shortly - I'll post pics later- there is no indication that anyone had fun with it there is no sign of melted rubber in the wheel well- just the normal dirt - I keep my tires inflated and check them out constantly I cant believe that they decayed that quickly - couldn't have been showing threads for more than a week or two with out me noticing.

You expect to get more than 4,000 miles out of a set of tires
