   | $2500 hdtv, 90% off (small catch) guys i thought i would offer this up to you guys before it goes to craigslist. i have what was a $2200 Mitsubishi Platinum 46" widescreen HDTV widescreen, with accompanying form-fitting $300 wood and glass component cabinet with wheels. all for $300 OBO. why so cheap? well, i keep anal retentive meticulous care for my home theater hobby, but moving 10 times in the last 8 years with it has finally caught up with this machine, and hastened a common problem for rear projection TVs. Basically the motors that keep the blue and red colors in place have begun to fail, causing a slight droop in the sides of the picture. this usually goes away after the tv 'warms up', but it is the first signs before they fail totally and stop warming up. this is a common problem and from what i understand would cost approximately $300+ to fix. one possible short term fix would be keeping the TV on 24/7 so it never 'cools off'. for now the image is not what i would consider "unwatchable" with the drooping. I personally would have no problem fixing this TV and keeping it, but i fortunately had access to somebody else's TV that i am switching out for. let me know. pics can be posted if needed, i have none on hand right now.
