Re: what to bring?

If it's your first track day you really shouldn't be worried about lap times.

Re: what to bring?

well, it'll still be good to know what kind of times i'm puttin down. not sayin i'm gonna break records, but it'd be good to see if i'm making improvements or not. especially compare the first track day with second. what kind of lap timers do i need to buy?

XT seems to be the popular brand of lap timer

seriously though, what's with the lap timers? do we all have to bring our own to keep track of lap times?
ha ha ha, swim trunks for 2 reasons..

1. If the hotel has a pool
2. If you go swimming at Jennings.. ha ha ha

Dont sweat a lap timer, not needed for first timers...

Dont fall into that trap yet.... You should be worried with getting a few track weekends under your belt before worring about times.

I have recently seen a lot of newer track riders using lap timers, and then they come off the track see their time and want to get faster... And with their inexperience and chasing times they go down..

This is what you need to be concerned with..

1. A successful first track day.. load you and your shit up in ONE PIECE at the end of the day.

2. Do more track weekends, and work on becoming SMOOTH, once you become smooth the speed with come and with that so will the lower laptimes.....

Get a good nights rest the night before is crutial as you are really going to wear yourself out. Avoid Sodas throughout the day as well because they dehydrate you.
