Yep.

2ct's are more than enough for the majority of Trackday riders, especially first timers.

Michelin is offering some great deals on them too. Pick some up from one of the site sponsors.

Re: Tire for Track Day

Just left cycle gear and they have the bt016. Anyone with experience with these tires? Supposed to be a multicompound w/ three different compounds for a total of 5 zones.

Great tire, BT-016 is mainly street, BT-003 RS is a Race/Street compound ( I am using these right now on the track bike ) and BT-003 DOT is straight race, Either Soft, Med or hard type. I like the BT-003 DOT for track only and the BT-003 RS for double duty.

Check this photo, Explains what I am saying Also when you decide, Call our site sponsor http://www.soflasportbikes.com/forum...n-16-17-a.html

Re: Tire for Track Day

The ONLY TRIPLE COMPOUND IS MADE BY BRIDGESTONE THE BT0016 OR THE ALL NEW BT003RS's.
There's no one else with triple compounds for Track Addicts.
HARD-MEDIUM-SOFT.

Re: Tire for Track Day

had Corsa IIIs...loved em. last track day got a piece of cotter pin in my rear. the pirelli guy was at lunch so I got PowerOnes (B)....little higher profile (think more contact patch) but I love them. I will probably get new wheels though and trade them back out cuz they are a little expensive to trash on the street.

The corsas were great on the track and the street. I rode jennings in the rain and never once second guess whether my tires would stick.

Re: Tire for Track Day

oh and for the record...my husband, whos a very aggressive rider used Stradas on his first 2 days...stuck just fine (at Jennings, I don't know what track you're going to). But much like the guy asking about buying a track bike for his new track day...replacing tires with plenty of life for your first track day...if money's an issue...may not be necessary...I'm just sayin...
