Tire for Track Day - SoFlaSportbikes.com

Looking to do my first track day end of march. need to get a set of tires but don't want to buy a set that will only do for the track. been looking a lot at the new multicompounds but dont want to buy anything that will not hold when i get to the track. any suggestions for a multicompound that will cut it at the track and on the road. oh yeah price always plays a roll but let me hear what you got.

telling you now just find someone with "take off's" and get them mounted at the track. I don't recommend just driving on up with road tires on a track day. I mean if your spending the money on a track day the last thing on your mind should be how do I cut corners on buying tires...I personally wouldn't do a track day or weekend with out a full set or two easy...Just my .02 cents...

I got a set of Power0nes DOTs, 120v med and 190x55b med takeoffs for 180. I'll post pics later tonight.

Sounds like you need a set of Michelin Pilot 2ct or similar multi compound tire. They are made for street riding, but with stickier rubber on the outer inch or so of the tire to handle track days

Any of the multi compound tires from Michelin, Pirelli, Bridgestones, etc, will do you just fine for the street and track. As you get faster, then start looking at getting race take-offs.
