It was made rather clear to us that the bikes are hand assembled in Berlin. That ever part in the bike is made in Germany I doubt but I'm not overly concerned by that since BMW had 1000 S1000RRs being driven by employees of theirs for over a year to find issues. They also took 5 years on this project and don't appear to have rushed anything. It was already said here that the 800 for the GS800 and the 450 and 650 single motors are made in Taiwan. I know nothing about the 650 and the 800 but I owned a 450. I raced the G 450 X for a year in 2 and 3 hour Hare Scrambles (brutal cross country endurance racing for you sport only types) and the motor was a tank. I had no issues with it and would not have cared if it was made in Honduras if it performed as that 450 did in the heat and sand down here FL. On a separate note, the way we use "made in China" today as a punch line is reminiscent of how "made in Japan" was used in the 50s. I'm pretty sure that China will become the manufacturing powerhouse that Japan has become within a decade or so.

I personally think this bmw is going to be a 09 r1 FAIL...

and at $16,400+the bs I'll keep my 10 and be running circles around it with all the extra money on mods....

Hate to burst your bubble but the bike is 14k not 16k. Its only 16k if you put the ABS TC and Quick Shifter on it. And you made a little mistake on your sentence there. You said:
"I personally think this bmw is going to be a 09 r1 FAIL..."
What you meant was:
I personally want this bmw to be a 09 r1 FAIL...

what good is the s1000rr without its ABSTC?... the bulk of s1000rr reviews talk about the abstc... so I wouldnt even think of buying one without those features...that and its power are the only things that sets this bike apart from the japanese.
