Re: Took my bike to Honda

there are a bunch of us that have the same bike and his and one other have burn oil but his is the only one that has all those problems i love Honda but thats bull shit if they don't fix the problem as long as its not user related. i want to know that if i have the same problem it will be fixed. hey if they don't fix it you should find other people that have the same issue and get a lawyer

I don't know who gave you the misinformation - the pre-service inspection is to protect both the dealer and the customer. If a customer claims there is damage and it wasn't noted on the inspection, they're responsible. On the other hand if a customer tries to pull a fast one and claim the dealer did what was existing damage - they have it recorded with the customer's signature - either way it shows who's responsible.

I know you have already contacted Honda national - if you want to contact the district sales & service reps, they can both be reached at 800 421-1900. The Eastern regional office can be reached at 770 442-2035.

The more people you contact, the more likely you are to reach someone that may actually want to help.

I'm not sure how Honda works, but I've seen other car manufacturers buy-back cars for minor issues - not even close to a lemon law issue. One was a car that mid-year they had changed so that they came with an iPod jack...the customer's window sticker for the car said it came with one - it didn't - they replaced the car. Another was a customer who dumped his coffee down into the center console and it shorted out the airbag control module and wasn't covered by warranty - he threw a fit, claiming it was a design defect, that they should expect beverages to get spilled/dumped - the factory bought the car back.

From my experiences with other car mfg, things get solved at the regional level - even going to national, they will send it back to the appropriate regional person for resolution. The main thing is if you get the right person, you can get something more than the standard brush off answers.

Good luck & keep us updated.

Re: Took my bike to Honda

Complain your ass off. Those 08's are really hit or miss, not even worth buying because you cant tell it burns oil until youve had it for a few hundred miles.... And then youre screwed because honda pulls this shit.

I love my 07' 1krr. If I ever get a newer one it will be an 09+
