2007 Ninja 650r engine seized BEST OFFER

Bike now for sale. Engine seized. Engine won't start. Took to Broward Motorsports to look at, they couldn't get it to start and I didn't want to pay for the tear down. Odds are needs a new engine, but I'm no mechanic, maybe it's something simpler. Not sure.

Not looking to part out, looking to sell as is. Pic below and link for more pics below. Make me an offer. Thanks.

Make/Model: 2007 Kawasaki Ninja 650r
Mileage: 21xxx miles

Extras:
Muzzy Exhaust
Sliders (one bent)
Zero Gravity windscreen tinted black
New Grips
Tires great (Michelin Pilot Power)
Tank Logo

Why did the engine seize? Back story?

Out riding, heard clicking noise coming from engine, was less than a mile from home, rode it home while it made the same clicking noise in higher revs so kept it slow and low...checked oil, oil very low, put oil in bike. Let it sit for the night.

Took it out the next day. Clicking gone. A mile down the road clicking came back. Turned around to head back home, clicking noise turned to clanking, put it in neutral and rode into a parking lot. Turned bike off, let it sit a min. Started it up again, as I got going it start clicking again, then on the road it started clanking which turned to knocking. Put in neutral again, rolled as far as I could, then pushed it the rest of the way home (wasn't far).

Didn't turn it back on after that. Brought it to Broward Motorsports, they said they couldn't get it started and engine was locked up/seized. Wanted to do a tear down. I declined, took the bike back and it's now sitting in my garage. If I try to start it, it just clicks rapidly. Battery is fine.

Suggested Retail Value is $3,365.

I'd buy this very clean engine for $1050.

2007 06 07 08 Kawasaki EX650R EX650AE EX650 EX 650R 650 Engine Motor Block 7K | eBay

..and drop it in. Takes a day.

Offer it on eBay, all Florida Craigslists and Cycletrader (2 weeks for free). This forum is dead and most are selling, not buying.

You should be able to get $2,000 out of it.

Then you can disassemble your seized engine, see what happened and break it down and sell it for parts too... I was one of those no shows -_-. Just don't have the space for the project.

Re: 2007 Ninja 650r engine seized BEST OFFER

I agree with Don on this one... Broward Mosports has a less than sterling rep, IMHO... you were able to crank it, but they say it's seized? And it will ONLY cost you a gazillion dollars for them to take a look at it... Yeah; NO. There are a lot of highly reputable shops who I would trust.

Dropping in a clean engine would be my first shot, if it were mine. If you can't or won't install it yourself, call Gary at Extreme - I would get an estimate from him to see what it would cost to drop that engine in... he's always been more than fair in his pricing for anything I've brought him.

Re: 2007 Ninja 650r engine seized BEST OFFER

That's what I was thinking. They were probably too lazy to get it to turn over so they checked the tire pressure and said it was seized.
