Knox Aegis Back Protector vs ICON Stryker Back Protector

What's up everyone! Wanted to get some feeback on riders who wear independent back protectors (like the Aegis) compared to the (Icon Stryker) CE certified ones that fit inside the back of jackets. Do the independent ones fit under the jackets comfortably? Are they cumbersome or bulky? Are the back protectors that fit inside the back of motorcycle jackets any less safe than the independent ones? Appreciate your feedback and opinions.

You do NOT need safety gear to ride on streets - just ask Swampy. Either of these items will make you HOT. It is better to be cool than sweat.
Remember, hospital wards are AIR CONDITIONED.

You have to try one on. It depend on how much room is left in your jacket. The independant ones usually offer more protection based on how far down the spine they sit. The ones that fit into the jacket pocket tend to be shorter.

Try them on.... some do not breath that well and make mesh jackets loose much of their cooling. Also, if faces btw a large vs med or med vs small, and both protect well, go with the smaller as it will allow more cooling.

some sites have a great return policy of it not fit right and also give great advice. I am a fan of revzilla and cyclegear.

I have a Dianese (not sure what model) back protector and it breaths very little.

Re: Knox Aegis Back Protector vs ICON Stryker Back Protector

duplicate post...

I have a joe rocket mesh jacket and it breaths awesome.. much better than my Dainese Jacket...

Comfort is #1 for me b/c otherwise I wont get into the habit of wearing it, and the habit is what will help you when needed.

If ya gonna wear the jacket, might as well also wear the gloves and the breathability and flexibility of daily gloves makes a huge difference for daily riding.... I been contemplating getting a 4th helmet in the search of super comfort.. (1 mx helmet Shoei, 2 Suamys, and my first Joe Rocket which is about 10 years old and so is past is prime protection date but better something than nothing).. the Schuberth, I might try.
