Those are very bright. the unit of measurement for LED's is a "millicandela" or a "mcd" The greater the number of mcd's the brighter the light, how does it compare with say a 1157 or a regular automotive type bulb. Well it doesn't, LED's are directional bulbs meaning that there is a cone of light they produce and automobile bulbs are round in spread light in all directions.

That particular bulb has a 25 degree cone meaning if you are looking at it inside of that cone it is going to be intense, if you are outside of it the light is going to seem weak.

Think about led turn signal bulbs, generally they have about 18-24 6400 mcd leds in them (see below for some details) one of these leds is almost twice the power of one of the leds used in 1157 led cluster bulbs

Re: turn signal mod

That looks awesome. Going to look into doing this sometime in the near future. Looking through the guide it seems very straightforward (coming from someone who sucks with wiring), very well written.

Only question is how do you wire it into the signals to be functional? Maybe I missed that part.. Oh, and will it work as a brake light too?

Sorry for the really old bump.. Didn't realize it was 07.

Re: turn signal mod

Nice post, and good website copy!! But a buddy of mine had this done on his 03 zx6r and when having a passenger from maybe the stress or extra weight he always had problems with the wires shorting out or coming apart. In the end he just got rid of them...
