The kit will usually have a rubber grommet right before the wires get to the bulb...on my kawi I dremeled out a hole slightly smaller than the size of the grommet and it was a perfect fit, and when fitted it created a waterproof seal.

for HID's.

So from your experience you'd say the Bi-Xenons are a solid enough technology to go for it? I'd prefer to pay an extra $30-$40 to keep both high/low beams. Just want to know that the tech has matured enough to be reliable. I remember when the bi-xenons first came out there were many reports that the only truly reliable ones were those used by the high end vehicle manufacturers (very expensive), but that was many years ago. Now they are finally available in moderate price ranges.

So if my choice was either high beam OR HID's I would pick the HID's. But if there is a functional alternative where I can keep both then I'm interested in looking into it.

Anyone else had any bi-xenon experience in bike or car???

The HID's are going to have just as good if not better spread and wider than what you're going to put in as your high beam bulb(s).

My 1k and 750 have the same headlight design, and as I mentioned I think the HID's will out do any bulbs that I've put in my 750.

Treatment for sandginalitis:
Upon first signs of infection, immediately assume riding position on motorcycle, and start engine. If sand doesn't jar loose with engine vibrations, take motorcycle out onto road for an extended ride. If symptoms persist, meet up with your riding crew, and let each friend/member kick you in the groin.

Re: HID'S?!?!?!?

I have a generic brand, and have not had any issues with them. I've had them in my bike for almost 2 yrs. You'll probably be fine with just about any brand out there.
