Re: Motor Oil's

Good info. Amsoil won all catagories but 1. It has to be an unbiased test.

I've been using Amsoil for years... Its great stuff. I can attest that oil pressure is improved over other synthetics and gas mileage improves with Amsoil. And if you need any, I have some in stock.

Do you know who makes "Honda Oil" ? They recommend 10-30 last couple years and nobody else has a 10-30 motorcycle oil but them!...

Re: Motor Oil's

I have no idea who manufactures the Honda oil. Just realize that the difference between 10W-30 and 10W-40 is only the cold weight of the oil. You don't need to worry about that. We live in FL, the oil will never get that cold.

Thats one way to look at it!........... .................

The way I see it, the last several years engineers have discovered closer tolerance equals more efficiency, horsepower, and longevity. Thats why they recommend 20 and 30 weight oils in new vehicles to make them spin easy without cramming thick oil through all the bearings.

If you set a sparkplug gap at .030 then try to slide a .040 guage through it whats gonna happen?

Last year I was driving back and forth with my truck same place and road every day for a couple months, switched from recommended 20 to Mobil1 30 and went from 14 to 12.5 mpg after the first tank, put 20 back in it and got 14 again. Coincidance?

Re: Motor Oil's

Amsoil may be good shit, but I prefer INDEPENDANT studies by non-partial entities... plus, Rotella synthetic wasn't in there

The difference is the HOT weight.
10 is the cold weight and helps circulate the oil quicker at start up.
